UNILAG Senate officially rejects new name, Resume June 18

Ayodele Samuel, Lagos   The University of Lagos Senate after an  Emergency Meeting of Monday rejected  the renaming of the institute to Mashood Abiola University Lagos. "the proposed re-naming of the University of Lagos is not acceptable and is rejected in its entirety as it is a mere declaration of intention with no legal effect" the Senate said  .   the University of Lagos Senate supports all legal processes being carried out by all stakeholders on the subject".   The school announces that          all academic activities should resume on Monday, June 18, 2012, while, the Halls of Residence will be re-opened on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 4.00 p.m.
