Iroko wins again

 courts upheld  Mimiko  victory


The Ondo state Electoral Tribunal handling petitions against the election of the Ondo state governor, Chief Olusegun Mimiko,  has upheld  his victory

the judgement  deliver its ruling confirmed  the election that brought Iroko into power. Some opposition parties in Ondo state had contested the legitimacy of the last governorship election in state at the election tribunal. The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, and its Candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu; and Olusola Oke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP; are contesting the result of last year's governorship election declared in favour of the current governor of the state and the Labour Party, LP.

The petitions of Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, and its candidate, Soji Ehinlanwo, faced some challenges leading to its indefinite adjournment.
The three-man petition panel headed by Justice Andova Kaka'n was inaugurated on November 22, 2012 and got 180 days to finalize proceedings. All parties involved have been served with a notice of judgment by the Tribunal.
